3rd mention at states court

After waiting for 6 weeks (since 9th Apr), the day finally came. I thought the lawyer would have called me for a meeting at the lawyer’s office to tell me the proposed sentence, but such things didn’t materialize. Instead, I had to ask the lawyer firm for update one week before the 3rd mention. The response is that the lawyer firm is still preparing document of representation waiting to be sent. Probably from what I can guess, the prosecution has yet to come up with the proposed sentence. I do not know what the reason behind such dragging, will there be a review of the panel code soon? Since there are no answers either from the defense lawyer or on the internet, I can only guess.

On 21st of May , I woke up at 0615am, took my breakfast and went to the state’s courts . I reached the venue at around 0820am. I managed to see Mr. Wong again, and he mentioned that the prosecution has yet to reply to him, thus he does not have any information to offer. So, he would propose another deferment of 6 weeks for the prosecution to respond.

We went into the court (4A) at around 0845 am, there is a lot of cases to be heard, and the court official had started reading out charges to individual accused even before the judges come in. The judge (different from the previous 2 mentions) came in early at 855am, being very courteous and informed everyone to be patient as they might have to wait a bit longer for their case to be heard.

With a lawyer, it took just 5 minutes for my case to be heard. I saw an Indian guy on the prosecution bench (probably he is the prosecutor for my case). My lawyer starts to talk to the judges using some very technical terms which I do not understand. The judge later turn to me to ask if I had anything to say. Fearing if I do accidentally say any wrong words, I at that time choose to stay silent and said, “nothing at the moment”. and within minutes, the case has been deferred to 2nd July 2026. And for the 4th mention, I would not need to be present, and Mr. Wong would represent me for the next hearing. After we came out of the court, Mr. Wong briefed me on the timeline, the case as what to be seen, should drag for another 2 months (until late July or early august). if there are custodial sentence, I should be serving jail time as early as august. For the lawyer fee, Mr. Wong mentioned that the 6K is a package confirmed and I cannot expect anything less than that. On top of the standard charges, I would need to pay GST, and additional reimbursement fee every time the lawyer attends court session. the total charges are likely to hover around 7K

Since I took only half day leave, I went for a walk nearby and visited 佛牙寺, had lunch at the basement canteen and went back to office.

Looking forward, I have to wait for another 6 weeks to know the proposed sentence, and probably another 4 weeks before I could start serving my sentence. Guess what, any oversea trip would have to wait until October and beyond. During these times, I would have to save quite a bit, hoping that my case could end asap so I could live a normal life again. And during such challenging times, I strive to have the right mindset(正念)， do the right things( 积极) and believe to GOD ( 乐观)

五月份的外出（去植物园）

本来准备好在5月一号（劳动节）外出的自己，刚好那一天，母亲预约了自己去推拿，所以把改去星期六。早上七点起床，去小贩中心帮母亲买了早餐。吃了早餐，到了八点才出门。今天决定去一下植物园，反正已经有一年多没有去走走了。能走一下，也是好事。

到了那里，大概是0915分了。地方比自己想象还要大，主要去参观一下上一次没有去过的地方。天气也相当不错，没有下雨但也没有很热。凡是能拍照的地方，多少要拍一下。不求别人帮忙，自拍就已经很好了。一路走了两个半小时，走到了植物园的西部（靠近tanglin gate），想想不回到botanic garden MRT station 了，就在tanglin gate 外面搭巴士去fortune center 吃饭。结束了半天的行程

讲到牙医方面，今年决定不回到JEM的clinic 了，还是找新的dental clinic 比较好。看来看去，是有不少的clinic 可以去。最后还是选择在jurong east central 的 A dental Clinic , 方便自己在放工之后，去看牙医之后，又可以骑脚车回家。从四月到现在，看了两次的牙医，第二次补牙之后，补过的部分，不到两个小时就掉出来了，果然没什么效果，和自己说，未来还是要勤劳多照顾牙齿，才会在这方面省一些钱。

未来一个月来说，要等到21号（或之前），才会知道案件的进展。这些天务必要多看书，学习日语和练习二胡，凡是不好的念头，一律不要生出来。所谓邪来烦恼至，正来烦恼除
